FAQs

Solar questions, answered clearly.

No jargon, no overselling. If the honest answer is ‘it depends on your load’, we say so.

01

General

We design, install, commission and support solar and hybrid energy systems for homes, businesses and industrial facilities in Nigeria. The engineering work — load assessment, system design and electrical integration — is the core of the service, not an add-on.

No. We work across residential homes and estates, commercial properties such as hotels, schools, clinics and retail, and industrial facilities with heavy continuous loads.

Request a free energy assessment. We review what you need to power, how you currently power it and what reliability level you need, then advise on the appropriate direction before any quotation.

Yes. Coverage depends on site access and project scale. Tell us your location during the assessment and we will confirm.

The initial energy assessment conversation is free. A detailed on-site technical survey for larger projects may be scoped separately, and we will always tell you in advance.

Financing terms, where available, are discussed as part of your proposal once scope and cost are confirmed.

02

Solar

From measured or declared load: appliance inventory, daily consumption, peak demand, usage pattern across the day, and the level of backup you want. Budget then shapes phasing, not physics.

Generation reduces on heavily overcast days. That is exactly why systems are designed with storage autonomy and, where relevant, grid or generator as a supporting layer.

Yes, when the system is designed for it. Air conditioning is a significant load, so it must be included in the assessment rather than added afterwards.

Not necessarily. Many clients keep the generator as a final backup while dramatically reducing running hours.

Panels typically have the longest service life in the system, with inverters and batteries following manufacturer-specified lifecycles. Actual figures depend on the equipment selected for your design.

03

Batteries

It stores energy generated during the day so it can be used at night or during an outage, and it stabilises supply when generation and demand do not line up.

It depends on how much energy you consume outside generation hours and how long you want to run without any other source.

Yes, in most hybrid configurations the grid or generator can charge storage when solar generation is insufficient.

In a ventilated, secure, accessible location determined during the site survey — not simply wherever there is space.

Electronics that monitor and protect the battery: cell balancing, temperature, charge and discharge limits. It is central to safety and service life.

04

Installation

Residential systems are typically days; commercial and industrial projects depend on scope, access and design complexity. Your proposal states the programme.

Roof structure, material and orientation are assessed during the site survey and mounting is specified accordingly.

Yes. Integration with your existing distribution, protection devices and earthing is part of the engineering scope.

Some. We plan changeover windows in advance so critical operations are affected as little as possible.

The system is tested under load, configured, documented and handed over with an explanation of operation and monitoring.

05

Commercial

That is usually the core objective. We quantify current consumption first, then design generation and storage against it.

Yes. Commercial and industrial projects begin with an audit and load analysis before any system is proposed.

Yes. Phasing is common where capital is staged — the design accounts for future capacity from the start.

Integration is designed deliberately, including changeover behaviour and protection coordination.

Monitoring provides generation, consumption and system health data appropriate to the scale of the installation.

06

Maintenance

Soiling, connection integrity, inverter health and battery condition all affect output. Maintenance protects the performance you paid for.

It depends on site conditions such as dust and harmattan exposure. Your maintenance schedule reflects the site.

In many cases yes, following an inspection to establish the current condition and safety of the installation.

We diagnose the fault, isolate safely, and repair or replace the affected component, with monitoring data guiding the diagnosis.

Monitoring capability is specified in the system design. Ongoing monitoring service levels are agreed in your support plan.
